Our school promotes the holistic education and development of the children in our care in partnership with staff, Board of Management and parents. This is provided within a Catholic ethos while embracing all beliefs.

Vision statement:
Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh is a co-educational, Catholic, primary school. We strive to provide a well-ordered, positive, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional, physical, moral and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.

While Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh has a Catholic ethos, it also has due recognition for all other religions, beliefs and cultures.

In Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh we put a strong emphasis on pupil personal wellbeing and we strive to ensure the all pupils feel safe and content by consistently demonstrating our core values of respect, trust, empathy, encouragement, appreciation and belonging.

We strive to create a fully inclusive learning environment where all children are given equal opportunity to access the full curriculum. Pertaining to this, we aim to ensure that all pupils with Special Educational Needs receive adequate support in order to reach their full potential.

Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh will endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community, to imbue in the pupil’s respect for people and property and to encourage in them the idea of being a responsible citizen.

Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh will model and encourage children to make moral judgements based on their Christian values, human rights and their own conscience that will contribute to a caring, tolerant and accepting society.

Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh will strive to promote, both individually and collectively, the professional and personal development of teachers through staff development programmes.

Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh will encourage the involvement of parents through home/school contacts and their involvement with Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh Parents’ Association in various school related activities.

Scoil Naomh Colmán MacDuaigh will promote gender and identity equity amongst the teachers and pupils.
